After participating in our wide variety of activities, you may want something with a more competitive edge to indulge in. In Writing Room, we host weekly to bi-weekly Events and monthly Contests, for both newbies and veterans alike to submit their work to and enjoy. Challenge yourself with this engaging process and hey, shoot one of our Staff an idea you might have for a Event or Contest via PM while you're at it!
Hello writers! On a bi-weekly basis, the Writing room will host a poetry or story challenge, alternating between these genres. You are all welcome to participate! Here’s how it works:
Each Sunday evening (EST), the winner of the previous week will be announced and have their work spotlighted in the room intro. After a small ceremony, the staff will a reveal a new topic for the week. Writers have until the following Friday at 11:59 pm (EST) to submit their entries.
This is a friendly competition; as such, please do not be intimidated because you think you are unskilled! Participants of all ranges are welcome. Each entrant will receive feedback from the judges and, later, possibly from regular users who see your work.
This will be a writing-focused roleplaying event, with emphasis on character/plot development and imagery skill. It will be different from the Roleplaying room as it will be in forum style, meaning paragraphs are used instead of one-liners in the chat.
One week before the event, a summary of the world and quest will be posted for participants to familiarize themselves and plan their characters.
At the start, participants will give a brief description of their characters (name, appearance, age, and personality) and depending on the world/quest, more details may be required (like a Pokemon or a special power).
The host will then lead the event for an hour or two

Fiction Phantasm
Welcome readers and writers alike! Fiction Phantasm is an event in which users submit world themes, genres, characters, and/or plot twists to be used within upcoming short stories written by our very room! On a bi-weekly basis, we will randomly pick one submission from each category for writers to use in that week’s stories. Each entry will be judged based on how well the author was able to incorporate the selected elements while also putting their own unique twist on the story.
